Welcome to the official site of the XXX annual Bumble Invitational to be held in 2012 at Lago Vista beginning April 18th. We are going back to Lago Vista later again by popular demand. We will play the same 2 courses again, Highland Lakes, & Lago Vista. Both courses were in good shape last year. I recently called LV and was informed that they had plenty of H2O for the golf courses during this last years drought. According to pro Eric Cupit course is in great condition and we will hopefully have warm & dry weather and green grass to putt on again this April 2012. This years costs(approx totals) will be $130 for golfs and approx $200ea total for 3 person condos for 4 NITES(3person for 3nites @ approx total $150ea). Basically that works out to about $50 each a nite. DAA !! Rooms are able to handle 4 people if you wish. There is one room with doublebed, one room with 2 singlebeds, and a sleeper couch. Most people want a bed. Each condo also has 2 baths and kitchen area. The DEADLINE FOR ROOM SIGNUP will be March the 18th. One person will be responsible for signing up each room. I booked all rooms for 4 nites as most were there Wednesday last year anyway. If you are only interested in 3 nites you can handle when you reserve the room. That makes about a $430 total cost for the trip with $100 included in the 'kitty' DUE SOME TIME BEFORE the 18th of March. BEWARE OF DEER AGAIN as they are thick as mosquitoes. If you are driving in LV area you need to be careful ESPECIALLY after dark. The last time I was in the area I saw about 200++ OBAMAdeer hanging around looking for handouts. THEY are not shy and THEY think they have the Xcrossing right-a-way. If you hit one you'll wish you hadn't as they do not have collision insurance. We will be adding more details on website as we get closer to Tourny time. TeeTimes are as follows: Wednesday somewhere around 12 noon at HL for early arrivals, Thurs 12:00 shotgun(HL), TTimes starting @ 10am Friday(LV) & Saturday(HL), and 9am shotgun Sunday(LV). We are hoping for a 4hr round of golf each day. The snack bar at the LV golf coarse opens every morning at 7am for breakfast and closes at 4:30pm. There still are no eating facilities at the HL coarse as of early 2012. As of March 18th I hope to have approx 36 players signed up. Flights and handicaps will be published later. BAD NEWS for those of us wanting to know about the Friday nite fish fry at the Catholic Church. Last FF for this year is March 30th. UGG !!! I guess we can get our own pole and catch fish down at the lake if there is any water left in it. Presently we don't have plans for a Friday or Saturday nite cookout BUT JPutman will be cooking breakkfast FRIDAY & SATURDAY mornings. PLEASE NO PIGS ALLOWED !!!! If the OINKERS show up they will ruin for next year. As for THURSDAY teetimes I'm going to let everyone pair up in 4somes and play anytime they want. I tried last year and almost everyone was teed off by the 12 o'clock shotgun time. If you are less than a 4some hang around and pair up with players as they check in. I still have the 12pm shotgun but a lot of people will be in the area Wednesday evening and probably want to play earlier. That way you can play Xtra golfs if you want. I will pair up Fri-Sat-Sun(by standings). Bumble Invitational rules in effect are as follows, PLAY BALL DOWN, Flights 1&2 play the BLUE Tees and Flights 3&4 play the WHITE TEEs, OB will be played as a lateral hazard if you desire(drop where ball crossed OB line=INWOODS drop in the WOODS)or go back to original spot + 1 stroke, the infamous "Rule" (double par) is in effect(when you get one pick up and GETTA going), and I need a Signed Score-card EACH DAY (PENALTY DOUBLE PAR ROUND). You need to keep 2 scorecards, 1 SIGNED FOR OFFICIAL SCORER>ME(+BobSchwerd) & one for your group bets !!! Any questions play 2 balls and ask in the proshop or myself. I have this huge rule book from that PGA workshop I went to in San Antonio in February 2011. DAAA ?!?!? Let's have a good time and keep the pace of play at about 4hrs. As for checking in early the motel has a 4pm check in time, unless room was unoccupied the nite before then they will probably check you in. For those coming in late they have a drop box or you can make arrangements with me to pick up keys for you. Also, they DO NOT change linens or towels each day. If you would like anything clean you must take dirty to office and Xchange for clean stuff. Any additional info about driving directions, golf coarses, maps, and lodging can be obtained by going to the above websites. We will probably play REAL GOLFS again as that was the consensus last year. May still have a special flt for old farts and the mentally challenged. See you'all in Lago in 1 day as of the 17th of April. Probable roomie list is on the roommate page of website. Any changes contact me. For those of you coming in on WEDNESDAY April 18th wanting to play golfs there will probably be some sorta game starting between 12 & 1 o'clock probably at the Highlands GC.
